Plex Web Error: Sign in has been temporarily disabled

I keep getting this error for “Plex Web” browser login: “Sign in has been temporarily disabled: too many failed attempts. Please try again later.”

My server works and clients are OK. I can log into Plex via browser, just sometimes when accessing areas of my account this error pops (also see the error when I attempt to link Home Assistant Plex Sensor to my Plex server).

I’ve waited days and each time getting the same error.

Not aware of anything that is attempting to log into the account automatically with an incorrect password.

Reviewing your account, it looks like something in PMS is failing to connect back to plex.tv properly which is behaving the same as if you are failing to sign in yourself. Can you provide me your PMS log after the next time you see this error?

Figured it out today. Normally have a VPN connection permanently on.

Disabling the VPN during the Plex Web login request allowed the process to complete.
