Would someone mind testing something for me, if running a older version of the server, currently running 1.30.2.6563 to keep flinging working, search no longer works via Web interface locally always no results, only if I’m signed into my actual plex.tv account, if I sign out and search it works fine.
I’m having this issue too.
Casting from Web app does not work.

Given that every other Plex client is able to cast - including plexamp which is a js codebase - fixing the web client seems like it would have to be relatively trivial.
“seems like” doesn’t mean it is unfortunately.

While that is logically true in principle and in general, it is not necessarily true in practice, in this particular case.
Since all of the code is closed source, I can’t directly investigate whether it would be trivially possible to grab some working js code from plexamp, massage it a little, and fix this longstanding bug in the web client.
Since you plex guys don’t often say anything direct and meaningful (in general, and certainly specifically in this case) about whether any developers have actually directly looked at a particular issue, those of us who would like to make use of this functionality are just left in mystery about whether it’s even on any developer’s radar that there is a feature in this prominent client that worked up until April of 2023 and then stopped working around then and has remained broken through many, many, server updates since then.

Could you test the search function for me, goto your server locally, sign into an account and perform a search, on the old version im using now, search always shows no results when signed in, if I sign out it works fine,if possible please. Thanks
I can confirm that the API functionality has been restored in this release. Thanks for tracking this for us!
This fix was specifically mentioned in the release notes over here, tracked as item #14567, which must be an internal designation, as I can’t find any other reference to it in the forums.
When will version 1.32.8.7639 be released to all users?
Casting from the PC web app now works (I’m using 1.40.0.7775).
BUT, the transport controls and progress bar don’t work on the cast-from PC.
Is that a known issue?
