Yea it’s been s**tshow to say the least.
I’m actually going to be rolling back as well

Seriously need to fix the bugs so I feel like rolling back defeats the purpose here. So split on it.

For me I found all Plex versions beyond 1.24.5 struggle with almost every video I have. This applies to the Plex web app and the Plex app on our Fire TV although the problem isn’t as extreme on the Fire TV.
This is a major bug that has been around for almost 5 months now… just sayin’.
Please don’t
LOL
Does anyone need 1.24.5 ? If so, please state which machine variant and distro?
(e.g. X86_64 - ubuntu -or- x86_64 - Synology)
I know they’re working fixing this but it’s also important for you all to have a working server, riight ?
I switched to Jellyfin for the time, I can’t stream Plex in Browser at all because of the very frequent interruptions. It seems Jellyfin also fixed my Alder Lake-related HW transcoding issues. And you don’t have to switch from 2Mbps Transcoding to Original/Max Quality on each and every client! And wait, you also do not have a user limit? Incredible…
I have also now made the switch to jellyfin.
Plexhas usually been the first app i ever download on any new device. it has been that important to me. However, here is no real sign that this issue is going to be fixed any time soon and needs must. Thank goodness we have alternatives.
My server is a X86_64 Ubuntu box (I use linuxserver.io’s docker image).
It’s a shame that you are losing so many users over this issue, especially because we know the issue is being actively worked on. I guess we see you adding a bunch of new features when there is a showstopping bug like this that people perceive as being overlooked.
Today, I added plex back to my home network after over a year rolling without it. New feature: it only plays 2 min chunks of video max… and it’s been like that for how long? Props for now having staff actively interact with the community but seriously though, what are you guys doing? ![]()
Also, after fixing product breaking bugs, please add google assistant integration. Put that feature request section to use, it’s been forever at the top. I’m having to rely on voluntary efforts from a random community dev that made it work years ago, while plex staff themselves are saying they aren’t good enough to make it happen. Open source software truly looking like our only way out
Please allow us to download older working version for all platforms. This is a critical bug making your software useless.
Thanks for the link!
More than 6 months of this thread… and no solution… ![]()
So, I am here to bump this again. What is the status?
LOL - you would have to ack the issue to have a status. Increasingly frustrating that what was once the core functionality of this software (video playback) has seemingly taken such a back seat to what most feel are fringe feature additions.
(Rhetorical comment I know, but I feel like we need to keep bumping this…)
Has this been solved? I watched a couple of movies in the weekend and I had no buffering and stops, maybe I was just lucky or it is related to the codec. Do you see any changes?
The issue appears to be fixed in v1.27.1.5891! I just confirmed it after upgrading from v1.27.0.5897, which I had experienced the issue in prior to the upgrade. I made it past the 1:29 mark for the first time since v1.24!
I also just upgraded to v1.27.1.5891. So far I do not see the issue anymore. I’ll be the second to say I believe the issue was solved. I’ll report back here if I see further issues as I test more, but initial tests have been very good. JFYI, You’ll need Plex Pass to download v1.27.1.5891 though as it’s apparently a beta release.
I can confirm that with Version 1.27.1.5891 the issues is fixed for me too. Thanks to all!
v1.27.1.5891 is for Beta update channel, so I wait for a official update with this fix.
The only reference to fix this problem is: “(Transcoder) Audio could drop out partway through playback when remuxing videos with very long keyframe intervals to DASH (#13411)” ![]()
Still an issue on v1.27.1.5891
It’s up to around 15/16 minutes now, but still happening…
Yeah, scratch that. Seeing the same pauses midway movies and episodes. Have rolled back again.
Bad news… ![]()
