To avoid transcoding on unsupported device for 4K, i have added a 1080p version in addition of 4K file.
In most of the case, Plex web displays by default the 1080p version and allow me to play as direct stream but for some movies, this is the 4K version which is first displayed and will be used when clicking on play button.
I have to switch manually on the “Choose Version” to pick the 1080p and the file play as expected.
I have try to remove the 4K version from the folder, empty trash to force to re-index a new file but after the merge version, it’s again the 4K version added.
The files are in a single folder with the title and the resolution in the file name as plex recommendation.
This occur only on few movies and don’t get this issue using the PMP client on Windows or on iOS.
Any idea how to force the 1080p version play by default in Plex web and let the server take the best version following client capabilities ?
