I’m new on Plex, now I’ve 2 key problems, which need to be solved.
My Plex wont play videos in the browser chrome.
It works fine in Safari and on iphone/ipadd apps.
Also, the function to stream to chromecast (from webbrowser and iphone/ipad) does not work right, it has really bad errors in the pictures (constant fragments, unwatchable).
I tried the newest and some older versions of chrome, on windows and mac.
The logs in plex don’t show any problems, it seems to just work on the plex side.
In the chrome dev tools are no network errors but the console has the warning:
Did not move header “accept” to query string. This can result in an unnecessary OPTIONS preflight request.
I tried to deactivate all chrome addons and the incognito mode. No improvement.
Everything else works perfectly with chromecast: Netflix, Youtube, stream my desktop, spotify.
That the videos dont play in chrome is annoying but not the worst thing for me, I can use other browsers.
But that it is not able to stream properly to chromecast is something making me mad and regretting buyieng the lifetime pass. it’s the function I need the most.
It has to work somehow, or I have to migrate away from plex.
