First off, i apologize if this is answered somewhere else. I have searched high and low and can’t find the answer to this. I already have a cable box from Cox communications. I am looking to set it up on my plex server so i can access channels from any device in the house instead of buying multiple boxes for each room. Is this possible or do i need an HDHomerun?
You need a digital tuner that can accept a cable card, like an HDHomerun Prime. The cable boxes themselves do not allow any type of communication with them to make them useful as a tuner for Plex.
