Xfinity cable with Plex DVR

I’ve searched around and couldn’t find exactly what I’m looking for in this case. I pay for cable through Comcast/Xfinity and have a TV Tuner Card that works with Windows, and currently through the TV Tuner vendor software works on Windows. I’m just curious if it’s possible to use Plex with a cable box vs. an over the air digital antenna. When I search for DVR’s through Plex it doesn’t ever find anything.

I’m technical, but never set anything like this up and am not too knowledgeable of all the ins and outs of TV. Any help, or if there’s other links that I could look into that would be appreciated.

You need a hdhomerun Prime for use with a cable card for comcast.

If you just want OTA you can use the Hdhomerun connect or other supported tuner.

No, you need a tuner(prime as stated above for comcast), It wont grab the signal from the cable box output.
