You’ll need to provide more details.
trying to build library from solid state external drive using a DELL all in one.
Roku finds the files from the wireless home theater.Using their media player. Been using PLEX for a long time. Not sure if I tried roku-plex since the solid state drive was in use.
The Roku Media Player is a DLNA client. Your Dell must be acting as a DLNA server. Plex is not a DLNA client so it won’t be able to access those files the same way. Plex’s clients work with Plex Media Server. You will need to install and setup Plex Media Server on your Dell computer, then you can see your media from other Plex clients. Plex Media Server also has a DLNA server component, do you can still access your media from the Roku Media Player. You’ll need to turn off the DLNA server from your Dell.
Really don’t understand your answer. I have the latest Plex Media Server installed on my Dell. It will not locate and build a library from files on a External Solid State drive.
Sorry. You only mentioned the Roku Media Player, so I wasn’t sure you had already installed PMS.
So when you go to create a library, you have to pick the drive and folder where your media is location. Does that screen not show the external drive? Or it does, you’ve chosen it, but the library is still blank?
