I have all my media collection stored in an external hard disk. I have connected this hard disk to my router TG789vac v2 which works as UPNP media server.
Through this combination I am able to see all of my files on my apple TV with app as 8Player and PlayerXtreme. My DLNA tv also recognizes it.
I would like to use Plex as main player as I prefer the way it organizes the file (cover, info, etc.) but I am unable to point the library to the “external hard disk/TG789vac” server.
What is really frustrating is that the player above recognized immediately the server whilst Plex didn’t.
Is there a way to sort this out or I need to buy a NAS?
At the moment I can only use the library Plex has created on my computer, which does only contains few music albums. Beside I cannot even access it from remote, probably because I am in a double NAT situation.
