Hi. This is driving me nuts, so I really appreciate any help. I have fiddled with the Audio passthrough / HDMI / disabled setting in the player itself (On the cube), and it just won’t play DTS-MA (Or normal DTS I don’t think?). It plays other stuff in the original audio ok if ‘Passthrough’ is selected. Netflix and everything else plays ATMOS fine. Googling this reveals that I need to use Kodi apparently as this is a Plex limitation? But that doesn’t sound quite right? My setup: Firecube 3rd Gen on ethernet (93Mb speed tested). Denon AVR-X4500H. Runs off the same gigabit hub. I’ve bought the full version of Plex. I’m transcoding (Picture?) on my 3080ti PC which is where the files are stored.
Plex was having trouble with DTS passthrough on Cubes. Looks like they had to disable it. It should be decoded by the cube and passed as multi-channel PCM. The conversion to PCM is lossless, so there should be no quality problems.
Here’s the post that mentions disabling DTS passthrough. Other posts in the thread have additional info.
