I have had the Windows 10 filepath limit off for a while now, so I can usually create very long filepaths without any issue since I like to include the episode titles (which can get very large in select shows, namely anime). However, recently, I noticed that there were some files on disk that were not displaying in Plex. After some testing, it seems that if I reduce the filepath length below that of the artificial Windows limit (260 characters), then the Plex scanner picked up the episodes right away.
I was curious if anyone knows if this is intended behavior. It has been possible for years now to turn off the Windows limit, but it is up the program itself if they abide by the limit or not. Not sure if Plex supports long paths on Windows. If it does, is there some hidden setting to enable it? If not, is it something on the roadmap since there’s no real reason to keep the limit.
