Plex won't update deleted content

Server Version#:1.25.3.5409.f11334058
Player Version#: Media Player, Roku

Hi,

For some reason my Plex server won’t remove the metadata of the files I delete. If I delete a complete folder with let say " Ozark SE01", it’s not on my drive anymore but Plex still shows it but says " file not available" ( In Plex media server, Plex media player and Plex for Roku).

Someone knows what to do ?? First time this happens to me. I did do a cleanup via Plex settings but files still show.

Thanks

First, Edit your library,
go to the Add Folders tab
and verify that each of the folders listed in there are all

  • still existent
  • accessible by the Plex server
  • not completely empty

Second, empty the library trash. Emptying Library Trash | Plex Support

Hi,

Everything is in order but I do not have the empty trash options .

You are in the wrong place.
You can find “Empty Trash” in the context menu of each library.

Ok, done.

Restarted the server but the files still show. The drive are all online, the media that is really there plays just fine.

Done what?

Emptied trashcans in each library.

And verifying the folders which are added to the library?

Yup, everything you asked is done.

  1. activate debug logging (not ‘verbose’!)
  2. quit Plex Server
  3. wait 1 minute
  4. start Plex Server
  5. wait 5 minutes
  6. fetch log files and attach them here

Or inspect them yourself. Take a look at the Plex Media Server.log file and seek for messages about database corrupt or malformed.
If you find these, you may have to repair your database.

Here you go. I took a look at the file you mentioned but did not find anything regarding corrupt or malformed database.
Plex Media Server Logs_2022-01-16_08-11-14.zip (3.9 MB)

There are indeed no signs of datrabase corruption in your logs.
Leave the debug logging active for now.

  1. which agent has been selected in the properties of your “tv shows” library?
  2. please “scan library files” of the tv shows library (and only this library). Leave it plenty of time to complete, then fetch again some logs.

side note: you should get rid of the remnants of all the now-defunct old Plug-Ins. How do I find the Plug-Ins folder? | Plex Support

Never found the problem so I deleted every file one by one via Plex. New files are not giving me any problems.

Thanks
