go to the “Advanced” tab
DISable “store track progress”

As OttoKerner said, it’s sweet fades. It fades the last 5ish seconds of one song with the next. On some songs, it works really “sweet”. On some, it sucks sewer water.
Roll of the dice. Disable it or keep it and hope for good “sweet” fades.
There is no fixed time for the fade.
Instead, the loudness developments of the previous track and the following track are both taken into account to find the length of time where both tracks can be overlaid without the volume getting too high.
In other words: the time will be computed individually for every pair of tracks
