After being happy that Plexamp 3.0 (on Windows 10) would actually play music (1.1 no longer would, for me) I quickly noticed these things:
When restarting, the window does not appear in the same location/size it was when it was closed. 1.1 did this and it is a good feature.
I am now allowed to change the size of the TEXT in the Plexamp window to a limited degree, but that appears to have no effect on the size of the player controls, which look rather huge when a small or tiny font is selected.
As far as I could see, there was virtually no difference between small and tiny size.
Overall, 3.0 takes up more space on screen that 1.1 used. If I try to make it smaller, things I want to see disappear. With all the fancy graphic things being done, I would love it if I had an option to have the song title and progress slide up over the album cover, that would allow a nice small square for Plexamp (the player controls already fade into existence over the album cover when they are hidden). Perhaps the text/progress could do that, too, or just have an option to display them with transparency. These are just ideas, of course.
I have not figured out how to move the icon from the TaskBar to the system tray as 1.1 did. I liked having Plexamp available, but out of the way.
I think I found another issue. Is the SEARCH feature supposed to be working yet? If so, should it produce results like these:
I would think that a search would at least be able to find what is currently playing! I tried several other artists and got the same results for every search, whether or not my search targets were in my music library.
“Include in dashboard” is not checked for any of my music libraries. I don’t think that should affect searching for content within the library itself, should it?
EDIT: I enabled the setting to test and the search works. I guess I don’t actually have a choice what to shown on my home screens. Sigh.
