Server Version#: 1.40.1.8120 (on TruNAS SCALE, version 2.0.2)
Player Version#: Latest iOS build of PlexAmp
I recently setup a TruNAS SCALE system (a NAS) running the latest SCALE software. My video files and music stream just fine from the NAS using Plex, which I installed on TruNAS SCALE itself. The version of Plex on there is 2.0.2.
The problem I’m having is when I point PlexAmp on my iPhone 15 Pro to my new NAS, and when I go to download (for offline play) audio files to my iPhone’s local storage, I cannot seem to download any album or song that is encoded as a FLAC file while my PlexAmp settings are set to 320kbps. My download setting in the PlexAmp app is set to 320kbps because the FLAC files on my NAS server are 1) too large and 2) can’t even be played at full bit rate as I listen on bluetooth when on my iPhone. When I change the download setting in PlexAmp to be ‘automatic’ or ‘Maximum’, the FLAC albums and songs download fine as full FLAC files (again, this is not what I want).
To be clear: I’m just trying to figure out whey Plex won’t transcode my FLAC files down to a lower kbps (in this case 320kbps) when I try to download them on my phone. Before this new NAS server I’ve set up, I was using an old Windows gaming laptop with a 2TB drive in it as a simple Plex media server, and was able to convert the same FLAC files down to 320kbps, no problem.
I need some help figuring this out. One other possibily related issues is my NAS system is not recognizing my GPU (a Quadro P1000). My CPU has an integrated GPU (CPU is a Ryzen 5 5600G) so I’m pretty sure that can transcode the FLAC files down to 320kbps MP3 files like I want… right?
Anyway, thanks for reading, please help if you can!
