Plexamp Android-mobile not playing flac files

Server Version#: 1.19.1.2645
Player Version#:3.0.0

Newly installed version of Plexamp on Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Connected via wifi to home network running PMS 1.19.1.2645.

Attempted to play audio files today in flac format that Plex for android handled without an issue. Upon initial selection, plexamp spun the meter for 20 seconds and then, in rapid session, attempted to play all of the other flac files in the directory. All flac files failed to play in Plexamp but would play in Plex for Android.

Non-flac files would play in plexamp. Flac files that were auto-converted in plexamp when turning the wifi off would also play.

Any ideas?

Hmm… can you ship me over debug logs right after trying to play? Settings > Advanced > Debugging

Hmm…the logs indicate an error decoding those FLAC files; I have no clue why that would be

I don’t understand it either. It’s confusing because the plex-android app plays the very same files without issue.

I’m going to try removing and re-installing the plexamp app and see if that makes any difference.

Removing and re-installing didn’t work.

Same issue here. I can’t play flac files in plexamp android from my LAN using WiFi. With plex player I can do it without problem.
If I turn off WiFi, they are transcoded to mp3 and played ok, but I’ve like to play them in lossless flac format, at least when I’m at home.

Logs attached.

@Moose_Flunky @ereche
what are your music quality and conversion settings?

All the settings are the default ones.
Music quality:
WiFi: Maximum
Cellular: 128 Kbps
Downloads: Automatic

Advanced:
Conversion Bitrate: 128 Kbps

Mine are exactly the same as ereche’s.

Hi. Any news of this issue?

One thing. I tried playing the same flac music using a different and newer android device and the issue doesn’t appears, so I guess that is something related with the kind of device used. Android version maybe?

My device is a Nexus 5. Yes. I know. It’s very old, but I love it and runs smoothly yet.
The other device is a Redmi Note 7.

I haven’t heard anything from Plex about this. I suspect you’re probably right about this being a problem with older hardware. My device is a Galaxy Note 4 (they’re on the Note 10 now), but I don’t have anything newer to use for testing purposes.

It would be nice if Plex came out and said that if you are not running a recent version of Android or a phone introduced in the last few years, you might have problems running PlexAmp.
