Server Version#: 1.40.1.8120 (on TruNAS SCALE, version 2.0.2)
Player Version#: Latest iOS build of PlexAmp

I recently setup a TruNAS SCALE system (a NAS) running the latest SCALE software. My video files and music stream just fine from the NAS using Plex, which I installed on TruNAS SCALE itself. The version of Plex on there is 2.0.2.
The problem I’m having is when I point PlexAmp on my iPhone 15 Pro to my new NAS, and when I go to download (for offline play) audio files to my iPhone’s local storage, I cannot seem to download any album or song that is encoded as a FLAC file. My download setting in the PlexAmp app is set to 320kbps (I listen on bluetooth so FLAC is pointless, which is why I want to save space when downloading files for offline use). When I change the download setting in PlexAmp to be ‘automatic’ or ‘Maximum’, the FLAC albums and songs download fine as full FLAC files (again, this is not what I want).
I need some help figuring this out. One other possibily related issues is my NAS system is not recognizing my GPU (a Quadro P1000). My CPU has an integrated GPU (CPU is a Ryzen 5 5600G) so I’m pretty sure that can transcode the FLAC files down to 320kbps MP3 files like I want… right?
Anyway, thanks for reading, please help if you can!
I don’t htink it will transcode to mp3, it’ll likely transcode to opus, which sounds a whole lot better. I’ve got the Plexamp app on my phone set to unlimited while on wi-fi and 128kbps for cellular and conversion bitrate. When I’m out of the house, the transcode to opus 128 works great.
I’ve got a Qnap TS253-D NAS with a 4 core Intel Celeron. Nothing fancy, transcoding works great.
Noted re: using Opus vs mp3, I agree Opus is better! Thanks for the info on where the CPU is used versus the GPU.
I have a separate old windows laptop with a i5-6300HQ CPU and a 960M GPU. When downloading albums via Plexamp from that server everything converts down to Opus as expected. It’s only when using my new NAS system that I have problems.
I tried turning off WiFi on my iPhone and playing a track from my new server, and I cannot play any tracks while on cellular data. They just hang in Plexamp when I try to play them (I see a spinning loading symbol on the play/pause button and the track never plays). I went to the regular Plex app on my iPhone and got this error (see screenshot) when trying to play the same track. This happens when I try to play any FLAC file. If I click on an AAC file in the Plex app, the error doesn’t pop up but the track still doesn’t play.
