PlexAmp and Plex unable to download or play audiobook

Initially, I was unable to download the audiobook “The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson” on my PlexAmp app. I thought it was because I was in my cell network so when I got home I tried to download it again. No luck. I tried to play it in the webplayer in chrome but it would not play it either.

The file is a 1.8Gb m4b file but the console error shows that it’s trying to play a mp3 file. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. I’m new to Plex and would really like to use PlexAmp for audiobook consumption.

I can add any logs that are needed, just not sure which one’s I need to upload.

Server Version#: 4.76.1
Player Version#: 4.2.1 (Android PlexAmp)

Error opening file ‘"/home/pi/mynetworkdrive/PlexMedia/Audiobooks/The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson/The Way of Kings 01-38.mp3"’ - No such file or directory (2)

Did you maybe rename the file after you added it to Plex?
If so – can you scan the library for updates to see if your server picks up the correct one?

Can you open the audio book on the web app and check what the file path plex sees?

I don’t think I renamed it, but just in case I rescanned as suggested and I’m still getting the same issue

I forgot to mention, the error I posted was the console output after trying to open the file from the web app

Also, I should mention, I can successfully play the mb4 file in vlc so the file is probably fine

Can you post a screenshot of the file path for that track?

Well, I’m embarrassed! I rescanned the library a second time after @tom80H 's suggestion and played it again and it worked! I don’t know why it took 2 rescans or why it was showing as a mp3 file and not a m4b file. I only have one copy of the file and it’s a m4b… :man_shrugging:
