I was using Plexamp with Android Auto yesterday, and when the notification came up (when a new song began), I noticed that rather than showing the album cover, it would show the artist poster.
Not sure if bug or feature though.
Edit: I didn’t get a screenshot, it didn’t occur to me to do so at the time.
I noticed this as well. When looking closely at the notification, the album art is displayed then rapidly replaced with the artist poster.
It should be noted that in the full screen instance of PlexAmp only displays what I assume is the Album Art. It might be the Song Art - but I don’t have any unique song art.
This is happening when projecting from my Pixel 3XLa running Android 11 beta to my 2017 Ford Escape with factory SYNC3 on the latest version.

Out of interest, are you using the Android 11 beta as well?
Plexamp in Android Auto for me in full screen shows album art but it randomly flashes a different album art. I tried clearing the cache and choosing to only cache next song but it did not help. Album art seems to be random and not a song that is coming up in a playlist. I stopped using with AA til a fix. My OCD can’t handle it.
Almost certainly related: In my 2019 Honda Accord, Android Auto is displaying the correct album art on the console, however my dash seems to be grabbing the notification image - which is the Artist image and not the correct album art.
In the three pictures in this post, you can see (1) a wide view including the notification image of the artist, which is incorrect, and the cover art showing properly on my center console (2) closeup of dashboard (incorrect) (3) closeup of center console (correct).
Sorry for the extremely late reply, I didn’t get any notifications, I am using plexamp on my Galaxy S10+ with android 10 and the official docker server on unraid
This is resolved for me on the version released yesterday. Album cover showing in notification and now-playing. Nice work!
