Plexamp Android player controls intermittently respond to touch

I’m having an issue where the player controls (pause, skip to previous or next track) intermittently respond when tapped. For example, if I tap to skip the track, nothing happens for 5-10 seconds. Sometimes, it will advance to the next track, and sometimes it won’t. I’m having the same issue with pausing playback. Sometimes I have to tap the controls multiple times before they finally seem to respond.

It doesn’t seem like it’s the entire app freezing, either. When this happens, I can navigate around to other sections of the app, but if I bring up the track playing screen again and try to pause the track, nothing happens. It also doesn’t matter whether I’m playing a downloaded track or streaming one, it seems to happen equally in both instances. The playback controls in the notification area seem to work more consistently.

I’m running Plexamp 3.2.2 on an Android 8.0.1 device, Moto G5+.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

Weird, haven’t heard of this one before

I also have this actually. Only on my Android phone, not the desktop. Only when the app has been in the background (also after screen has been off, even if PlexAmp is the “first app”). The phone is a GalaxyA5.

It’s exactly as you describe, and the notification bar seems more responsive yes. I have just assumed this is because sometimes the PlexAmp interface takes like a second to register touches? Or that my phone is slow somehow? For me it’s not 5-10 seconds though, more like 1-2.

For me, it’s especially annoying now that I have switched to the “like/dislike” system. It means that I often bring the player up, click like or dislike, and minimize it again. Tapping the like button can take about 2 seconds to register (or maybe it doesn’t register at all). Minor problem for me but after many times it can get a bit annoying.
