Hi, I just found out about Plexamp and it seems like a nice app to play music without loading up my entire Plex library,(or leaving my Plex app unsecured for ease of use) however I noticed the artwork for artists are cropped into circles. Unfortunately, the crop kind of butchers my 50 hours-worth spent creating custom artwork. My options are to just accept the way it is, or reset/change the artwork in Plex to accomodate this.
The rest of Plexamp and Plex uses square or rectangular images for everything. Granted, comparable apps like Spotify and Amazon Music also use circles for artists, but I would love to have the option and continuity between Plex and Plexamp.
I’m sure this request/complaint/suggestion is not a pressing concern and I know other apps such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music also crop artists into circles (Google Play uses rectangles).
This is my first post on these forums, so please forgive if I’ve posted this in the wrong category. I did not see any similar or duplicate threads. It’s not my intention to complain; I really like the app and would switch 100% to Plexamp over Plex if this was addressed.

For me personally, I like the circular crops, I just wish we were detecting eyes so we could center them properly Artist artwork tends to come in all sorts of different aspect ratios, so it’s hard to have it uncropped generally.
That’s fair, I actually agree that circle crop should be the default, that’s how Last.fm, Spotify, etc. handle it. I realize this is a niche request for a niche app so I’m not expecting anything.
I guess I should have said a square crop is preferable to a circle crop for me, pretty much the same way Plex works. Plex handles images of different ratios by cropping the extra width. I’m no developer, but it seems like it would not be extremely difficult to implement an option for square crop - even if the circle crop remained the default option.
I appreciate your time, and today under fresh eyes, I’ve decided it’s no deal-breaker. This is a niche request, so I’m not expecting anything.
