I got a new pair of computer speakers (3.5mm plug) and thought I’d try using them with a spare old Vizio Android tablet. It’s got an old OS on it but the store said Plexamp was installable.
It is unable to play FLAC files and AAC files even though both of these work fine in the normal Plex for Android client. The music never starts, it just immediately skips to the next track all the way through the album and then goes back to the album view. I do have a couple albums loaded as MP3s and those play fine. Even if I force maximum bitrate to 128 the client will not transcode the FLAC down and play.
I did see this other topic which sounds like the same issue:
Log is attached. I can’t remember if I cleared the cache before trying to play the music in that log file, but I have definitely done that. I even set the pre-cache to “only next” to try to remove that possibility.
It’s possible we need to update the minimum version in the store But it’s also weird that it works in the regular Plex app as it’s the same player under the hood.
Do you have access to the logcat on your device? Just wondering if the system logs might provide more details of why the loads are failing when the app starts up.
