Plexamp Cast To DLNA Device

We’d love to work better with WiiM, we love their hardware and I don’t have any info on it.

Hi @elan,

Do you have any update here? Plexamp endpoint was added by WiiM to their roadmap more than half a year ago. No news however and doubts that any type of collaboration is even ongoing…

I would expect this to be a great move for Plex(amp) if it works out. Plex reaching out might give a breakthrough?

They’ve added basic support for linking the device with a Plex account and playing to it.

Yes it is a sad thing and people want mostly to stick to Plexamp. Therefore the question if any collaboration is ongoing or no contact (yet).

Would Plex be willing to collaborate?

We’ve had back and forth with them, and I’m willing to chat more.

Thank you @elan for replying!

With respect, plexamp streaming to DLNA devices is not objectively bad at all. It’s something my family (kids in particular) use all the time. Emby does this very well and it is the last thing that is keeping me with Emby. Kids can intuitively easily use the GUI of emby on the ipad or my phone and it can cast to our HEOS stereos. This would be exceptionally useful.

I have the same issue… No cast to DLNA, and broken ChromeCast.

So I use BubbleUPnP, it support DLNA, and ChromeCast with Physical Volume Control, what a Headless PlexAmp PI can’t do sadly.

Still hope for DLNA support and functional ChromeCast from PlexAmp, but getting my hope low.

Yes, casting through DLNA would basically solve everything for a lot of people.

Don’t care about the sweet fades, EQ (the WiiM devices can handle this). As long as it can do bit-perfect, gapless playback.
