Hi I want to use the collection system in Plex for PlexAmp putting together my music thats been acquired from different source and services or any choice of grouping I might want. So CD rips, with location they live in my house e.g. CD (Lounge), CD (Dining Room) or digital purchaes from Bandcamp, etc.
Roon is used for my main linbrary usage but I prefer PlexAmp for on the go. I use Roons great internal tagging system to do this, for all my existing files I have had to manually do this bit by bit but any new files I can now add a metadata tag called ROONALBUMTAG and this pulls into Roon and automatically adds them to the correct grouping I want, and I can just filter for these easily.
I know collections are movies but its the only way I can see to group music into specific sections like I do in Roon easily. Ideally would like to be able to use this tag or add another specific for Plex which will automatically add them or create a new collection. Is this possible at all? Or am I going to have to manually do all this? My library is large at nearly 2k albums so dont want to have to do this manually all again. Or is there an another way I can acheive this?
