For some reason PlexAmp keeps freezing in CarPlay . Most of the time I am able to close iOS app and reopen, but a royal pain when the music cuts out while driving. Vehicle is a 2021 Toyota Highlander. Logs immediately after PlexAmp crash attached. Plexamp-Logs-2024-04-06-1.zip (194.3 KB)
Hi, any chance you can explain in a bit more detail what’s going on?
The next to last log starting at 12:01 PM looks like CarPlay started the app, ~3 tracks play.
At 12:16 PM it looks like maybe the car stopped and then got turned off or something else happened which caused the music to pause.
At 12:17 PM it looks like the app was opened, and then backgrounded again, and CarPlay connected.
The log ends (maybe you killed the app?)
The most recent log has playback of a couple of tracks and then sending logs.
There’s nothing really weird in either log, hence why we’d need more info from you, e.g. “freezing” means the app stops playing? The UI becomes unresponsive? Etc.

It looks like for whatever reason, when you stopped, iOS or CarPlay signaled an interruption which led us to pause:

Then the audio route changes away from CarPlay to the speaker

I don’t ever see a request to resume playback from iOS.
What sort of CarPlay is this, anything special/different?
Strange…great intel, thank you! iOS Version 17.4.1 and Wired CarPlay on a 2021 Toyota Highlander.
Alternatively, do you have a way to escalate with Apple’s CarPlay team or Toyota?
Unfortunately, I don’t. It’s still possible that it’s a Plexamp (or iOS) bug, mind you, it’s just rather strange behavior in the logs…
I don’t mean to be a thorn; however, I think just replicated the issue with Bluetooth headphones. Music randomly paused and wouldn’t resume. Plexamp said the music was “playing”, but I tried volume on headphones, as well as volume on iPhone. Maybe the attached logs will have another clue to this strange feature?
