PlexAmp deletes ratings when app is clicked in the background

I noticed some strange behavior with the star ratings in the last few versions of Plexamp. I seemed I had to click the rating twice to get it to stick. Today I figured out what it is.

If you focus the Plexamp window from the background by clicking directly on the rating stars, they get set to zero. If there was no rating it just seems to not register your choice, but if you click an existing rating, it doesn’t update to where you clicked. It removes the current rating and goes to zero.

This is only true when the window is in the background and you click on a star to focus the window. It works properly as long as the window stays focused.

GIF for (perhaps) clarity.

Edit: This was fixed in the 4.7.0 update. Thanks Plex Labs!

I’m amazed nobody else is annoyed by this glitchy behavior, or that nobody else is experiencing it.

New year, same behavior. :frowning:

Are you on Windows, Mac, Linux? I cannot reproduce this on my Mac

Sorry, yes. Plexamp 4.6.1 on Windows 10 Pro 22H2. PMS 1.30.1.6497

I cannot reproduce on Windows 10.
My mouse pointer is acting as expected – even if Plexamp is not in focus.

Do you have the preference activated which should be labeled similarly to: “scroll inactive windows while pointing on them”?
You can find it in the Control Panel under Mouse.

Have you activated any other input assistence features?

I did, but I just shut it off and it makes no difference. However, knowing it’s not universal made me double-check a few more things. I’m using a Logitech M355 wireless mouse both at work and at home and it doesn’t occur with my laptop’s built-in trackpad OR using remote desktop with the same mouse. I have no idea what’s going on, but I guess it’s not something Plex can fix. I’ll start swapping out mice and maybe uninstalling all my Logi software until I sort it out. Thank you for responding!

The aforementioned option is activated here.

I’m using an MX Master 3 and the Logitech Options software as well.

Very strange. I uninstalled the legacy SetPoint software for my M510 but left Logi Options. No change, even after a restart. I can’t think of any assistance features I’ve enabled. I’ll report back if I ever figure it out, in case it helps someone else.
