Plexamp Windows - Rating a song is now 3 clicks instead of 1

I’m thrilled with the release of Plexamp 3.0, particularly for iOS - now my favorite listening experience goes with me easily… or it would, if I were leaving the house… someday?

Anyway, I upgraded from v1.1 on Windows, and it’s great - but one thing really bugs me. I’ve been slowly working on rating all the tracks in my library, by listening to an Unrated smart playlist, and rating the tracks, either on the Plex iOS app or Plexamp on Windows. On Windows, Plexamp 1.1 let me just hover the mouse over the player to show the rating stars, and click on them… one click. With 3.0, the stars are always there in my normal view, which is great… but I can’t click on them to rate  I have to click on them, and then a sort of modal half-window pops up, and I can click THERE on the stars to register my rating of the song. THEN, I need to click Close to make the mini-window go away… if I instead click above the mini window (on the album art or visualizer), I toggle the display state choice of album art/visualizer.

Anyway, any chance we can re-activate the ability for me to just click on the stars to set/change the rating?

If not, I’ll survive, but one click to three clicks seems like a huge step backward in terms of UX for this function.

This is the kind of small details that should be taken care of on any media app, not just form over function. I like plexamp for the simplicity and I actually started using it as my main music player on desktop but it still needs work on details like this. Hopefully with it being a plex pass exclusive app, it gets the development attention it deserves.

I noticed this today. I installed the Plexamp app onto my Mac laptop and it’s playing music just fine. However, I (like the post above) have been trying to rate songs for the auto playlist generation. So I click one of the five stars under the album art of the player. This triggers a slide menu at the bottom to slide up which has the same five stars. So I click the star down there instead and it works. This must be a “one click” option.

Other than this I’m loving the app. I’ve always had little issues here and there playing music with the Plex App and this has resolved those issues for me.

Edit:
I found the setting where it shows a single star for rating. If you click the single star then it will set a five star rating on the song without the shelf opening up. This is a step in the right direction. However, it’s still nice to be able to tell Plex to not like the song. I’m a stickler for having full albums in my library and not just the songs that I like. I’m getting shivers just thinking about having a single song from an album…

Click again, then.

I’ve noticed the amount of clicks also can you please make it so it doesn’t open the slider? It’s a bit unnecessary.

Also I noticed that half stars has made it back in? I thought this was removed from the initial jump from v2 to v3. If the devs feel these really have a place then please make it an user option. You can’t even view half stars in the Plex UI.

I’d appreciate it also if y’all could enable this. It’s not a lot for any one song, but when you’re trying to go through your library, one song at a time, listening to every track, it becomes a lot of work - especially when so many other things depend on the song ratings.
