Plexamp: Deleting individual downloaded tracks

I am regularly listening to new music which I download on my NAS. At my desktop computer the “workflow” is to directly delete the tracks which I won’t use further.

As I am also listening to the downloaded files when travelling etc. it would be great to have a function which would allow Plexamp to delete a file while/after listening.

PS When searching for other options enabling my workflow I had the impression that there are many other users which would appreciate such functionality

Have you considered using a smart playlist for your download (e.g. based on date-added)? You could amend that playlist’s criteria to include a rating component – specifically exclude all songs/tracks rated with e.g. 1 star… that should do the trick

Edit:

that should do the trick

→ this should allow you removing tracks from the smart playlist by rating them with 1 star

Hi Tom, thank you for your suggestion. I maybe should have mentioned that it is not just about collecting new music and adding songs to a playlist.

I am processing files for sets etc. and need to have them sorted in some folders and especially need to get rid of many files (c. 95% of the files) so it would be great to directly delete them while listening.

If your suggestion isn’t so much about individual items downloaded to your phone… there’s already an existing suggestion discussing an option to delete media directly from within Plexamp (not specific to downloads); that thread even got a feedback that it’s on Plex’ list of features they want to work on. In that case you might want to comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes.

Many thanks. My search for existing requests was apparently not sufficient. The other suggestion should do the trick so that my thread can be closed or deleted.
