PlexAmp (Desktop) consuming CPU threads

Server Version#: 1.32.5
Player Version#: 4.8.3

I installed PlexAmp about a week ago. This morning when I got out of bed, my Mac mini’s fan was raging. No one was using it for Plex or anything else. Checking Activity Monitor, a number of PlexAmp background tasks were running including two Plex Music Analyzers that were consuming 200% processor. Any idea what’s going on and why it suddenly is doing this?

As you can see from the CPU percentage, this has nothing to do with Plexamp.
The music analyzers are part of Plex Server.
They are executed as part of the nightly server maintenance, if there are still albums in your library which haven’t been analysed.

Oh, I understand. Thanks for that clarification. I should have considered the naming more carefully.

Sonic Analysis is pretty CPU-intensive. So if you recently just enabled the analysis, or created a new library, or moved a lot of music files around, then it is quite expected to produce load for a few nights (depending on the overall speed of your server machine).
