Plexamp does not deal well with silence

Server Version#:
Player Version#: Plexamp 4.12.4

So, an odd issue. Plexamp seems to stop playing because it doesn’t like silence. That’s my observation, I’ll explain steps:

  1. Plug USB-C headphones into my Nothing Phone 1.
  2. Open Plexamp.
  3. Select album (streaming from a Plex server on the same home network).
  4. Hit play.
    1. If a song goes fully silent, Plexamp sometimes doesn’t know what to do.
    2. When silence is encountered, it pauses, sometimes forges ahead, sometimes stops.
    3. When a song ends, playback often stops rather than progress to the next song, though on occasion it continues if it’s feeling motivated.

Further, anything below a specific volume threshold seems to force silence. What I mean is, if a part of a song fades down and starts to become quiet, it seems that Plexamp forces that to full silence for some reason, which is disconcerting. I have turned off “Automatic levelling” and “Sweet fades” to try and eliminate the issue, but that did nothing.

That sounds like an Android issue, nothing to do with Plexamp. We don’t detect, or act on silent in any way. You can try to change the output audio driver between OpenSL and AAudio to see if it makes a difference.
