PlexAmp feedback(MacOS)

Visualizer doesn’t work with multiple monitor setup

Steps:

  1. Have 2 monitors
  2. Open plexamp on monitor 1
  3. play music
  4. change visualizer on monitor 1 to let say Pulsar Joy
  5. drag app to monitor 2
  6. Notice that the visualizer no longer shows
  7. From status bar on monitor 2, change visualizer to let say Spectrum(make sure the app is on monitor 2)
  8. Notice the visualizer now shows on monitor 2
  9. Drag app to monitor 1
  10. Notice that the visualizer no longer shows

Add a way to go back to “current song” view after you click the “list/discovery” button

I’m having issue “cancelling” from trying to find a different song and want to keep the current song. The only reliable one is by clicking outside the app, but that makes the app switch to whatever app you clicked(if you stack the app on top of another app)

Steps:

  1. Click app
  2. click menu button on the app
  3. click search bar(“discovery”)
  4. clicking the menu button again doesn’t quite “dismiss” the entire screen, but instead it just toggle the recent played music screen and never dismiss the whole thing(which what i’m expecting it to do)

Add browse by artist/albums not just search field

when you have albums or artists that are in foreign language, it’s very hard to search for it. Especially if your keyboards are not using that language as your primary language

Add the option to have the album cover as a background behind the visualizer

I appreciate my album cover that i picked as a quick giveaway of what album i have playing instead of trying to read somewhat “clipped/shortened” text of the album

Add the option to have album name and/or artist name "scrolls right"

Some of my album name is longer than 32 characters(for the regular view size) and the scrolling album name helps instead of truncating it

Pulsar joy is great, but can we have it more like spectrum where it doesn’t scroll, so it’s just a line graph of the frequencies, not a bar like spectrum

Have custom color options for visualizer

I’d like to have the ability to choose what color is picked as the base for the visualizer

Progress/timeline bar when shown at top of the app when you hit menu should have a “black/gray” background behind it

If you play music with pulsar joy visualizer turned on, and hit the menu button on the app you can see the distracting lines scrolling pass the top of the app as the background of the progress bar. i think having that be filled with solid color is preferred

Clicking a song on “recent list” doesn’t actually play the music

I’m under the impression that clicking the song on the recent list(when you click the menu on the app) you will play that song immediately. However this just opens the album view of that song.

Show the option to shuffle/repeat "list/album/single"

i think this is a pretty standard feature which i love to have since i use it often

Are you on macOS or Windows?

Add a way to go back to “current song” view after you click the “list/discovery” button

You can use the ESC key, but we have an issue around making that more obvious.

Add browse by artist/albums not just search field

when you have albums or artists that are in foreign language, it’s very hard to search for it. Especially if your keyboards are not using that language as your primary language

You may not realize this, but you can click on the header of a discovery section to get an infinitely scrolling list (of artists sorted by most recently listened, and albums in order of most recently added). We’ll probably eventually add sorting options in there, which might give you just about what you’re asking for…

Add the option to have the album cover as a background behind the visualizer

It’s already there, it’s just healthfully blurred

Add the option to have album name and/or artist name “scrolls right”

We’ve heard that request and have an issue filed for it internally. Out of curiosity, would you expect it to do that on hover, or always?

Progress/timeline bar when shown at top of the app when you hit menu should have a “black/gray” background behind it

Noted, thanks!

Clicking a song on “recent list” doesn’t actually play the music

This is by design. You’re clicking on the Play Queue view so see previous and upcoming tracks. This allows you to browse to the respective artist/albums, as well as play them immediately, you just have to hover over the poster and click the play button.

Show the option to shuffle/repeat “list/album/single”

i think this is a pretty standard feature which i love to have since i use it often

I was wondering how many minutes would happen until this was requested

i’m on MacOS. To be more specific my monitor setup is a retina mbp and a non retina monitor. This might be the cause of the problem(probably not being able to detect the dpi changes between screens)

some of the visualizers don’t occupy a lot of the screen, so i thought it would be nice to have the cover be more visible(though yes it might not be “great” with design philosophy

I prefer always, but having the option such as: “off”, “on hover”, “always” would be perfect

Brilliant little app! I’d like a “full UI” some day, maybe not intended, but you can always wish

Also, there is no way to repeat entire playlist/album? I listen a lot of music and often see myself having to start again after playlist ended…
