Plexamp Flatpak

I’ve been maintaining my own Flatpak for Plexamp since 3.4.1. It fixed a bug for me where the app would freeze on a gray screen whenever playing music so I think it could be useful for others too. Because of this, I’d like to submit it to Flathub. However, I wanted to get permission from Plex first to make sure it’s okay if I do so.

You can see it here: flatpaks/src/tv.plex.plexamp at master · owendaprile/flatpaks · GitHub

I’ve made the manifest and a metainfo file for the Linux desktop stores.

I’m asking if it’s okay for me to submit this to Flathub or if you (Plex) want to take it over. If I should keep maintaining it, then let me know if there’s anything I should change (especially related to the license/screenshots/descriptions in the metainfo file).

Oh also, let me link relevant Flathub resources that you can see to make sure it’s okay if they distribute it.

we definitely want to level up our Linux packaging support. at the moment behind the scenes we’re working on upgrading to the latest electron version (which hopefully should help as well).

please keep in touch as we’d love to coordinate with you to eventually get an official version in there. and thanks very much for the help and for using plex(amp)!

Should I go ahead and submit mine to Flathub then, or are you going to look into it in the near future? If I end up submitting it now, you could always take it over later.

Oh well looks like someone’s already done it so ignore that then. You can still publish it officially in the future though, just ask the people at Flathub.

ah cool, thanks very much!
