PlexAMP for iOS nearly unusable

So I just downloaded the new PlexAMP app for iOS. It looks slick but…I can’t actually find any of my music. Am I missing something? The home tab shows some radio stations and a handful of recently added music and some listening history. There’s no way to view artists and/or albums except for tapping the triple dot menu on anything recently added. Additionally, searching for any artist, album or track name in the search tab only shows me Plex podcasts and absolutely zero results from my own library.

go to Settings - Source and make sure your music library is selected

Yes, it’s selected. That’s the first thing I did. It does show recently added items from the library, and 1 item from “most played in March” but that’s about it.

Is your music library “hidden from dashboard” (in the properties of the library)?

I’ve got the same problem, in my case the Music isn’t hidden from the dashboard.

Edit: Just found the answer to my confusion here:

Yep, it was. Unhiding it from the dashboard allows search results to show up. Seems like a bug, yes? Still, not being able to browse my library outside of searching is a non-starter for me. Great start though! I’ll definitely keep an eye on it for improvements.

The absence of the browsing is actually part of the concept.
There is a workaround though: [Feature Request] Android - Browse Library

But seriously, give it a chance. Maybe it grows on you.

Ah! That view works well enough. And I just meant that having to unhide the library from my plex dashboard to get it to show up in Plexamp seems like a bug. We’ve got a new app split out from the main one, but I have to change the behavior of the Plex to an undesired setting to affect Plexamp.

I totally get wanting to try and create a different experience, and I’ll give it a shot, but I just feel it’s the equivalent of changing plex to hide away my movie library forcing me to do a search for what I want or be at the mercy of an algorithm that puts a few movies in front of me.
