Started noticing it a few weeks ago and it’s consistent with PlexAmp across multiple iOS devices (iPhone 15 Pro and iPad Air).
PlexAmp version on my phone is 4.10.1 , iOS version 17.5.1 - trying to use chromecast to KEF LS50 Wireless II speakers. AirPlay works without any issue, and using chromecast from other apps (e.g. Qobuz or from KEFs app also is working fine).
Issue in a nutshell - I will connect to the speakers via ‘Google cast’, select a song (tried FLAC files in multiple version 44.1khz 16bit, and also hi-res flac files in different combinations) - The song will start casting and will play fine for a few seconds, and then will be stuck in an infinite loop playing the same 1-2 seconds that were buffered last - until I stop it (or try to play another song which then loops instead).
If casting using Chromecast, technically Plexamp isn’t in the loop, the device streams from the server and plays, so it seems like it’s a Chromecast receiver issue
Thanks for the reply elan! as mentioned before, ChromeCast work for those speakers with different sources (e.g. streaming from Qobuz, casting youtube audio or chrome tabs, or via the KEF app to name a few examples) - before I ping KEF with the same question - Is it possible there is an issue with how the plex server serves the music? It is something that used to work just fine and stopped (before any recent KEF firmware updates were applied to the speakers)
