Infinite album load on iOS Plexamp

Server Version#: 4.140.0
Player Version#: 4.11.2

  1. Open Plexamp on iOS.
  2. (Optional) Connect to Chromecast.
  3. Search for an album and select it.
  4. Press play or select a song.
  5. The app starts loading indefinitely, even though the app itself is not frozen.

Sometimes, after 30s or so it begins play, but usually it just keeps on spinning. Restarting the app restores everything to normal. Occasionally, playing another song helps too.

This issue has occurred both when I ran Plex server on my Mac Mini M2 and now when it’s running on a Debian server via Docker.

Furthermore, this problem started on my previous phone (iPhone XR) and continues on my current iPhone 15. My girlfriend has also encountered this issue on her phone when streaming from the Debian server.

I’ve attached the logs, and I hope someone can assist me in resolving this issue. Thank you in advance!

The “(Optional) Connect to Chromecast.” is confusing to me. Does the issue only occur with Chromecast? If so, then there’s an issue with the Chromecast communicating with the server. You can try the option which sends over a remote address.

If the issue occurs locally, then it’s something else, also likely network related.

I’m having a hard time reproducing the bug regularly – just now I tried playing handful of albums both on 4G and WiFi, connected to Chromecast (WiiM Amp’s Chromecast, that is), until I finally got it again (I’ve attached the logs). I think it usually happens when the Plexamp is connected to the Chromecast, yes.

Could you elaborate on the remote address part?

Also, do you have any idea on what might be the problem with the network if you can see it in the logs? Thanks.

Pinging just in case. Any ideas from my logs?
