PlexAmp hijacking Android media volume

PlexAmp 4.3.0, Android 12

Opening PlexAmp on Android is forcibly setting Android media volume to 100% when re-connecting to a remote instance. This is unexpected and unwanted. It came as quite a shock when listening to local radio on another app with handset volume around 30% then opening PlexAmp to ponder what to play remotely afterward.

Is it possible to decouple PlexAmp volume from handset media volume?

I would very much prefer to leave all PlexAmp instances set to 100% and adjust media volume on the handset as and when required.

I suspect this was introduced in 4.3.0 by one or more of the following changes from Plexamp Release Notes - #46 by elan

I have not enabled this setting.

Yeah, I can see that being jarring in some cases. It’s the only way to allow the hardware volume to control remote session volume, but I can see where that should probably be an optional feature. Works for some people, doesn’t for others.

Make sense?

Optional feature sounds good. I can definitely understand it being desirable for others.
