Anyone else trying to stream their own music thru Plexamp on your own local network then access to your NAS (WD PR2100) won’t connect on all other devices (Windows, Samsung TV) to include the original streaming on Android phone (outside doing yardwork)? Yes, my connection is Preferred, and I disabled Remote Access, which has always been touchy.
I get messages like needing to claim my NAS device, the NAS device at such and such IP address is unavailable, or NAS simply won’t connect.
The only way I get my NAS back is logging out of Plex on everything, then rebooting NAS.
Any other recommended music streaming apps for my music using a NAS?
Thanks for any responses, even if it’s so I don’t feel all alone with this problem.
Also, problem seemed to start with update to server, new phone, and/or changing my Plex password.
Maybe we can try to disentangle that a bit – right now I’m mostly confused by your post.
- Your server is running on the WD PR2100?
- After accessing your music library through Plexamp, you can no longer access the server from any other client?
- are those other apps able to connect to your server before you play anything with Plexamp?
- I’m not sure how remote access, connection security preferences or your server not being claimed playing into this… I suppose your server is linked to your account (otherwise you wouldn’t be able to use certain Plex Pass features)

Yes, my server is on WD PR2100.
If I stream my music from Plexamp on my android phone (local network) then access to my NAS on all devices stops accessing the server, including the phone.
Yes, access before streaming on Plexamp is available to other Plex clients, i.e. Samsung TV, Nvidia Shield, before using Plexamp.
Once I stop using Plexamp on my phone, access drops on everything.
The only solution is signing out on all devices and rebooting NAS, then not using Plexamp.
