Plexamp seems to be losing control casting audio after navigating away from the app. For example, I’ll start casting, switch to a different app, and when I go back to Plexamp, it starts fresh and doesn’t recognize that it is currently being casted to a Chromecast device. I can begin playing music in this new instance of Plexamp, but this is independent of the cast I began in Plexamp prior, so I have to ‘recast’ to the Chromecast device in order for Plexamp to have control/recognize the cast that it initiated despite the fact that this cast is still active. I can pause/skip songs through Google Home.
Some important points:
- This is casting to Chromecast Audio devices
- My Chromecast Audios are placed on a different, firewalled network along with other IoT things
- This would happen on occasion with the original Plex app on my phone, but far less frequently
- This doesn’t seem to be an issue with other apps I cast with, but I honestly don’t use other apps for this frequently enough
I know the gist of how Android apps and casting work but have never delved into either, so any suggestions would be appreciated!
