For the last several months, when navigating to certain artists, plex refuses to ever load their albums list page. It just spins and spins as if it’s loading. Artists will work fine, then one day they stop loading and never work again. I haven’t seen any pattern as to why it’s happening to some artists, but not others. Asking plexamp to play these problem artists through voice commands doesn’t work either. This problem is present in two separate vehicles.
If I want to navigate to an artist and shuffle all their music to play, I have to do it using my phone, which is very frustrating to do while I’m driving.
I’ve tried clearing my PlexAmp cache and deleting my app settings on my phone several times.
Any ideas on how to fix or troubleshoot this issue?
Unfortunately I’m at a bit of a loss as to what could be going wrong, given the logs as everything looks right.
Is there anything… different about those artists which might make them different (e.g. weird characters in font, number of albums, anything else you can think of)?
I can’t say that there’s anything special about the artists or their names. The two I tried in the logs are VNV Nation and Queens of the Stone Age. The folder names and structures look regular and fine on my SMB share. I’ve noticed sometimes artists stop loading after adding an album, but then again I’ve also noticed artists stopped loading when no change has been made to that artist’s folder/folder contents. This happens regardless of whether I’m connected to the wifi in my driveway, or miles away on an LTE connection.

Thank you for looking into this though. It’s very much appreciated. I didn’t drive anywhere today, but tomorrow I’ll take a moment to test out if version 4.8 of PlexAmp behaves any differently.
I hope this issue is being tracked somewhere as it continues to persist for many users. I’m willing to assist in troubleshooting the issue in any way I can.
This would be amazing! I have the same issue and it unfortunately makes it unusable for me in my car. Same as other user, has been happening past couple of months. Thank you for looking into this fix!
