Using Plexamp on Android, I have the setting (Downloads > Downloads on Cellular) disabled and I see that Plexamp is downloading over cellular even though I’m on Wi-Fi.
Is it possible to stop the app from downloading over cellular, especially when connected to wireless networks?
That doesn’t sound right. If your phone is on WiFi, the cellular connection is not used. Phones do not use both simultaneously. They can switch from one to the other. So it is not possible to use Cellular if you are on WiFi. Can you explain more what you are seeing and why you think this is happening.
the only thing i can think of is that you are on a LAN with DNS rebind protection or something funky and the other connection which is working is going via cellular, but that doesn’t make a huge amount of sense (but might be possible).
Are you by any chance using the Samsung download booster? It uses both cellular and wifi simultaneously when the phone is downloading a bigger chunk of data. You can see if it is enabled by looking if there is a lightning bolt besides the wifi icon?
I’ve had it kick in on Plex before. Only for movies though. It’s the only thing I can think of.
