I stumbled across plexamp for windows today after seeing a shout out on the forums. I have my music in a premium library and then a whole bunch of comedy audio in a normal library.
after linking to my server it seemed to be focusing only on the comedy sections so there was no real music and no playlists. I had to use the tray icon menu to choose the premium library.
Maybe its user error but I was struggling to get to anything else from the display. Searching was very snappy and found some matches to my search string, but not all matches. Looks like it acts like the web search and shows the top 3 from a section? Anyway to see the rest?
All in all it all looked quite good until I chose a track from a compilation album and clicked on the album name. The app hung for ages and eventually displayed a list of various artist albums rather than the album with its tracks. From this point on the app seemed pretty much unusable and just started playing some random track from one of the albums.
I have about 5000 compilations in my library.which seems to kill it due to the “various artists” album artist.
The PMS isn’t exactly fast but handles it within a couple of seconds from the web app and the client running plexamp was an i7 laptop via wireless. Happy to debug anything to help get this improved if possible as I have been cryng out for a snappy music solution for quite a while now
