Plexamp playlist ability request

I’m not sure if this has been brought up before, but I thought I’d throw it out here. I’ve created a large playlist of over 500+ songs from various artists. Sometimes I’ve found that I would get two or three songs in a row of the same artist. I’d rather have artists spread out during a playlist. For example…like a rule that says the same artist can’t he played within 5 songs or whatever number you could assign.

Is this a feature that could be integrated into PlexAmp somewhere down the line?

Just to clarify… this is about shuffling playlists?

Hey there. Not exactly. PlexAmp already shuffles a playlist, that’s not the issue. What I find sometimes is that even when shuffling the playlist…it might hit songs that are from a specific aritist a few times in a row. Example would be an 80’s playlist that’s shuffling over 500 songs titles, but ever so often I could get the following; “1999” by Prince, “Let’s Go Crazy” by Prince, “Purple Rain” by Prince. So…three shuffled songs but just so happen to be by the same artist.

What I’m looking for is a possible option to tell PlexAmp that even when playing a shuffled playlist of songs…to not repeat the same artist within a certain number of songs. So, in the example above, PlexAmp would see that a song by Prince was played. Then that would mean another random song by Prince would not be played for say another 5-8 songs. And in this option, have the user to be able to change the range of songs to their liking.
