Plexamp Search definitely has issues

I think this picture speaks to itself.
Plexamp can’t find this search while Plex finds it and propose some related answers linked to the Search:

This specific search, “I’ve got the feeling” is not only never find, but it uses a huge amount of CPU while other searches use just a little.
In the screen shot, number 1 is “Lana del ray” search, number 2 is “I’ve got the feeling”:

My database is optimized and I made a repair (just in case). Same results appear on mobile app and pc app.

The hardware I use:
Intel i7 11390H
32 go Ram
Samsung 990 Pro Nmve 1to

Here are some verbatim of other Plexamp users about the Search feature:

“That looks to be an apostrophe issue - different characters. Plex should really fuzzy-match those…”

“I have this as well. I have an album called 93 ‘til infinity if I search up the song (of the same name) the track won’t show but the album will. But all other tracks on the album will show up.”

"I have that album as well and just tried to search for the track, but same thing happened where only the album shows up. And even if I search for just ‘infinity’ it doesn’t show up which really makes no sense to me because the song “Spottieottie Til Infinity” by Outkast shows up.

I would actually love to know some specifics like which fields get searched for, is one field prioritized over another, can search fields be combined and what prevents search results you know are there from getting returned."

" Plexamp search is generally pretty bad in my experience"

“The hardware isn’t good enough to search for a song with an apostrophe? That’s just a “it works on my machine” response.”

" I’ve been frustrated with search recently as well. I’d prefer more grabby/fuzzy than less because I’m usually searching from my phone with an imperfect memory."

" Yes sorry I can see what you mean now - searches with words like “I’ve”, “I’ll”, “it’s” & “I’d” don’t return results. I guess I have never noticed before as I tend to just search with key words like “feeling” rather than “I’ve got a feeling” - just the way my brain works, plus I can never remember song titles anyway!"

" I find a lot of the time when you include words like ‘the’, ‘an’, or ‘a’, for example, that it fails to return the correct search results. I’ll even eliminate words with apostrophes in them if I can because I don’t know how they affect the search results - sometimes it works and sometimes it seems not to. Try the same search with ‘got feeling’ and see if it helps any."

I think Search issues are more commun than we can see in this forum or Reddit.
Plexamp users are even trying to finds workaround to use this feature, that is bad in my opinion.
There are more Plexamp users every days and Search is certainly one of the most used feature while looking for a song, an artist, an album.

We hope something could be done here to fix those issues

Same for me any search that I input ‘ it won’t return if ignore the ‘ it finds it.

Track in question I’m Night by Bent By Elephants.

Without apostrophe first hit

With apostrophe nowhere to be seen

Up

I tried this in Roon and it’s the same.

i’m getting results now with search inputs such as i’ve, i’m, can’t … latest version fixes maybe ?

Yes just updated and it’s working.

I can’t tell on my side, the update is still not available

I can confirm that the update fixes it!

Thank you @elan and your team for this (among all the other fixes!)

Excellent.

I have 10+ songs with the word “Goodbye” in the title, which show up when I search using “goodbye” on my laptop using a browser. But on Plexamp, it only shows 2 tracks out of 10+. Why is Plexamp only returning with a partial result?

likely server indexing issue. try optimizing database

I saw that in some other thread so i tried Optimize db option already but unfortunately it hasnt made a difference. :worried:
