Plexamp: 'Sign In' not working when Chrome is the default browser

During my first attempt at using Plexamp, I could not sign in. The ‘Sign in’ button on the launch screen simply opened a new Chrome window with a blank tab - no address in the address bar. My system browser is Chrome 63.0.3239.84.

If I change the system default browser to Safari then it works fine.

OS is macOS version 10.13.1 (High Sierra).

Edit to add: I noticed that Chrome had a pending update at the time. Haven’t tried checking again since applying the update.

Just got the Pleamp downloded and after I do the sign in it tells me I have no Music severs? I do have music servers as far as know…I play music all the time. So what do I need ( serverwise ) to get this to work. Windows 10 Pro 64 bit

Believe it or not I think this was a bug fixed in Chrome 64. Let us know if not?

Please try not to hijack threads  Are you running a Plex Media Server, and is it signed in?

I had the same in Chrome 62, after updating to Chrome 63, I was all set and could sign in…

@elan after posting, I realized that another app (Emacs for OS X) was showing the same behavior when trying to launch a web link (opening a new, empty, Chrome window but not navigating anywhere).

I restarted Chrome to apply the pending update (to 63.0.3239.108) and Emacs immediately started opening links correctly.

Since I already got Plexamp signed in through Safari I wasn’t able to repro the initial condition to verify, but IMO the problem was with my Chrome version and not Plexamp. Thanks for the response!

Glad to hear!

Also: Love me some emacs
