PlexAmp Streaming problems to Cambridge Audio MXN10

All was working fine… not sure when it broke… (maybe last Media Server update? 13/02/24)

Plexamp works fine on my Pixel 6, and other devices, but if I connect to my CA MXN10 (via my phone, which I have always done), the audio starts glitching, and nothing will play properly. I have tried various settings on the app, and a factory reset of the MXN10. I have also tried running a media server from another computer, a beefier Windows 11, with the same problem.

If I play the audio (16/24bit FLAC CD Rips) from Cambridge Audio StreamMagic, the audio plays perfect. The reason I don’t use StreamMagic, is that a lot of the time I cannot add music to the queue, for whatever random reason).

Like I say, everything was working perfectly until recently.

PS. Can I obtain older Media Server Plexamp Downloads to try?

Hope someone can give me some pointers… Thank you

Hi, just saw your review come in as well

Cambridge Audio StreamMagic probably uses some other tech to stream (DLNA?), I’m not sure how you’re connecting via Plexamp. Perhaps via Chromecast? If so, check the Plex app and see if you have different behavior to rule out a difference between the apps.

In any event, the most likely issue would be the network between your streamer and the media server.

It taken a while to find a similar thread but have recently started to see this issue from Plex to Cambridge Evo75. (Last 3-4 weeks).
Can cast audio from other apps to Evo fine
Can cast audio from plex to other devices fine.
I’m only experiencing this between Plex and Evo. Whether I cast from Plex Amp or Plex on Android, Plex web from browser.
The cast starts find then corrupts after 8-10 secs and starts repeating.,
I’ve dropped my stream quality down. Really can’t figure this out. Or find many references to the issue.
I think the fact that I can cast from plex to other devices fine and from other apps to Evo fine suggests that it might not be network or bandwidth problems

could it be related to a recent firmware update from Cambridge?

if you’re using Chromecast from Plex/Plexamp, do you have issues with all content, or just higher bitrate FLAC?

Thanks for the quick response.
I get the same with mp3s at 192.
Cambridge recent upgrade updated to Cast 2.0.
There are reported issues of Qobuz not working as not yet compatible with 2.0. Wondered about Plex.
