I use Chromecasts throughout the house as streaming targets for music. But the Chromecast player built in doesn’t support sweet fades, loudness levelling etc. Are there any alternatives that do allow Plexamp to be cast and retain all the player features?

The idea is that the pi with Plexamp headless replaces the Chromecast audio on each speaker?

Last question…is the new under development multi room feature a headless only feature? And I realize it is still in development…
Yep, headless only. It’s the conduit to getting the best output to receivers, powered speakers, USB amps, etc.
