Plexamp stuttering like a madman on desktop

All morning PlexAMP (3.1.1) on my OS/X desktop has been splurting and spluttering like a man man, cutting in and out choppy as heck playing music, my server doesn’t seem to be indexing/scanning or doing anything untoward, and I’m not currently compiling code on this machine…

Is there any simple way for me to diagnose what might be tripping things up? PlexAmp Helper (both Renderer and GPU) are 2.5% and 0.7% CPU respectively and don’t seem to be doing anything mad - and I have 500mb of wifi cache set…

I have the exact same issue, on Windows 10. Disk, GPU, CPU, and RAM are never fully utilized, and Plexamp stutters extremely bad, especially with higher quality FLAC. I am playing locally BTW.
