I’m curious if it’s on the roadmap at all for PlexAmp to support a preference for loading locally stored LRC or TXT based lyric files stored in accordance with Plex naming conventions.
Even though I have hundreds of lyric files stored locally, PlexAmp seems to be using LyricFind only which sometimes fails or can’t find lyrics that I have on my server.
Seems odd for a locally hosted focused solution to default to using cloud based lyrics only.
This is already supported.
Ensure that your .txt and .lrc files are named exactly like the song they belong to (except for the file name extension, of course).
Ensure that their text encoding is UTF-8.
After adding lyrics files, you need to Refresh Metadata of the album or the whole album artist in Plex.
I just tested this with .txt and .lrc on a few tracks in my library, It seems to be working just fine as intended with both for me. To help narrow down. This must be a random bug/glitch..
Plexamp on Android: v4.11.5
Pixel 6a: Android 14
Plex Media Server: Version 1.41.3.9314
OpSys: MacOS 10.14.6 (yup its still kicking LOLOL)
edit: Find Lyrics Automatically IS checked in the library settings, local metadata IS NOT checked.
