Plexamp Visualization Performance on linux

Hello,

Running plexamp 3.3.1 on Ubuntu 20.04 via the appImage.

I’m seeing a crazy amount of CPU usage, that increases greatly based on the scaled size of the music visualization window. I’m wondering if it is using the GPU at all? or is it all CPU driven? It gets extremely laggy, even in a small window. Would be great to offload some of that visualization computation to the GPU if possible.

CPU % when just looking at album art
570325 localad+ 20 0 1402804 253440 126268 S 6.0 0.2 1:20.39 plexamp

And when watching a visualization
570339 localad+ 20 0 518552 125312 55968 S 623.6 0.1 22:00.83 plexamp

6% to 600%+…

Probably depends on your drivers.

Under the hood it’s WebGL/Chromium (which in many cases, does use GPU).
