Next Plexamp release (currently using 1.1.0) feature request (Mac)

Hello,

I’m so happy with Plexamp (1.1.0).

However, I’d like you to add an option to let us use our own files ReplayGain values (fixed to -18 dB LUFS for now), and add a limiter (I use -16dB/-14dB LUFS for my music because -18dB is too low).

Thanks in advance,

Eric

Good timing…we’re in the process of moving to -14 dB LUFS w/limiter because we agree, -18 dB LUFS is too low in practice. The upcoming v2.0 desktop Plexamp will use this.

But… Any release date to tell us ? Any beta to give a try ?

Thanks,

Eric

Thanks elan

Any chance that vizualization’s on Linux will be fixed? I’ve tried Intel integrated and AMD Radeon (using the AMD opensource driver) - across 2 different distributions (Ubuntu and Manjaro) - I can’t get anything other than Pulsar Joy to work

I’m not entirely sure we’d fix this. We rely on WebGL; if that doesn’t work because of some combination of driver, there’s not much we can do.

(Pulsar Joy uses Canvas 2D, not WebGL, which explains the difference)

Bit out of my depth here, but webgl seems to work in other applications.

Does it work specifically in Chrome if you visit e.g. http://webglreport.com/ ?

Yeah it does, it supports webgl 1 & 2.

I’m using a Radeon RX 570 / with the AMD opensource driver. If there are any other logs I can post, please let me know

Hmm, I’m afraid I’m not sure what the suggest. Might relate to Electron specifically then, but I’m not sure why

Finally figured it out:
plexamp-1.1.0-x86_64.AppImage --ignore-gpu-blacklist --enable-gpu-rasterization --enable-zero-copy

With these flags specified, I can run Plexamp with full visualizations, so happy!

Hope this helps someone else in the future (although maybe this is a problem all of my own doing?)
